Without going into much detail, it stems from the fact that, as with iOS apps, and because of the new Auto Save features that make up part of Apple's new Modern Document Model, the Mac system will quietly quit any background apps that have not been active for a given amount of time. You may be wondering why Apple is making these Dock indicators harder to see now in the "Lions." The thinking is that knowing whether an app is running or not is no longer useful or required. The line on the Dock separates apps from files and folders. Again, as with that little line on the Dock, these are much more evident under Snow Leopard and older versions of (Mac) OS X. These "lights" indicate that the app associated with them are, in fact, launched and running. You will notice little blue "LED lights" underneath some app icons on the Dock. The Dock has visual cues indicating running apps. Plus, it leads you to some other goodies that I will mention a bit later. It delineates the Dock area for apps (left side) and the area for documents, folders and the system trash can (right side). In Lion and Mountain Lion, this line is very faint almost invisible. It will show up next to a small vertical line on the Dock's shelf. Typically, it will plop itself onto your Dock - way over at the right end, assuming your preference is to have the Dock at the bottom of your screen. For example, you launch it from your Applications folder. Each year, our staff works to present a USCA and a Summit that are engaging, educational, and impactful for those who attend. Both of those events are organized by the Conferences division at NMAC. And the Biomedical HIV Prevention Summit continues to grow in importance after just two years. The United States Conference on AIDS (USCA) remains the largest annual gathering of the HIV community in the nation.

NMAC remains committed to lead with race to end HIV/AIDS. These priorities require significant collaboration (internal and external). NMAC’s 2018 Vision centers on four priorities.

They are seriously considering cuts to Medicare and Medicaid. 2018 is particularly important because of the midterm elections, implementation of the tax reform, getting rid of the individual mandate for health insurance, and Congress looking to cut $1.5 trillion in federal spending to pay for the tax cuts. Our movement’s long-term success or failure will be greatly shaped by what happens over the next three years. There are real lives and real money on the line. President Trump requires that we up our game. Unfortunately, 2018 looks to be equally challenging.
